Michelle Simard Joins Livable Buckhead as Sustainability Program Manager

ATLANTA – May 21, 2019 – Livable Buckhead today announced that it has hired Michelle Simard as the nonprofit organization’s sustainability Photo of Michelle Simardprogram manager. Simard will be responsible for planning and executing Livable Buckhead’s sustainability activities and special projects to ensure the organization’s and community’s short and long-term sustainability goals are achieved.

Prior to joining Livable Buckhead, Simard worked as an attorney. She grew up in Baltimore, Md. and received her doctor of jurisprudence and certificate in environmental law from Pace Law School in New York. She lives in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward neighborhood and enjoys exploring, swimming, and hiking.

“We are excited to have Michelle join Livable Buckhead,” said Denise Starling, executive director of Livable Buckhead. “She brings both expertise and energy to the role, which will be critical as she helps us achieve the goals we set out in the Buckhead Sustainability Action Plan.”

Livable Buckhead and more than 30 leaders collaborated to create a sustainability plan for Buckhead, developing a hyperlocal course of action that dovetails with city, state, national and even global efforts to improve sustainability. The Buckhead Strategic Sustainability Action Plan establishes ambitious goals designed to accelerate Buckhead’s environmental, economic and social sustainability over the next three years.
