Livable Buckhead Joins the CHaRM Corporate & Community Challenge
Livable Buckhead is thrilled to announce our participation in the CHaRM Corporate & Community Challenge, a brand-new initiative from our long-time partners at Live Thrive, the nonprofit that operates Atlanta’s Center for Hard to Recycle Materials (CHaRM).
Through the CHaRM Corporate & Community Challenge, Livable Buckhead members can drop off hard-to-recycle materials for free between November 1 and April 25. And iykyk, this challenge bookends the 2 biggest holidays in the sustainability world: America Recycles Day (November 15) through Earth Day (April 20), creating a fun, months-long opportunity to reduce waste and clear out those ‘I don’t know how to get rid of this’ items we all have tucked away.
If you’ve been with us for a while, you might remember when Livable Buckhead hosted community pop-up recycling events, giving residents a chance to responsibly dispose of their hard-to-recycle materials. Our members are always asking when those will come back and now, we have an answer!
In recent years, CHaRM has expanded to two incredible facilities, including their brand-new Decatur location, which is absolutely worth checking out. These facilities make it simple to drop off tricky items that can’t go in your curbside bin — from paint and electronics to used cooking oil, old Halloween pumpkins, broken holiday lights, and all those items you *know you shouldn’t throw in the trash.
Participation in the challenge is just one of the many benefits of being a Livable Buckhead member. Throughout the challenge, we’ll be sharing educational content on how to handle common household items responsibly — from holiday décor and kitchen waste to home improvement leftovers — so you’ll know exactly what to do when those hard-to-recycle materials pop up throughout the year.
