The Buc Goes Green

In buc shuttle, Culture of Sustainability, Mobility

Livable Buckhead doesn’t just talk the talk, we… Buc the Buc?

Hopefully you know by now that the new Buc shuttle service is debuting this week with major improvements. The Buckhead Community Improvement District and Livable Buckhead have partnered with Via to replace the fixed-route shuttle service with an on-demand, corner to corner service. For years, the Buc has been helping us expand transit access from local MARTA stations. But now, this fixed-route service is being upgraded with on-demand service through Via. Whether you need a last-mile connection to your office or to run to a lunch meeting at the Buckhead Village District, hitch a ride on the Buc for reliable, corner-to-corner service.

But wait… there’s more! Even though the Buc already drives down greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the need for personal vehicle use, we’re going a step further. We’re partnering with GreenPrint, a global environmental technology company, to neutralize 100% of the Buc’s tailpipe emissions with certified carbon offsets through their GreenerMiles program. Carbon offsets compensate for emissions through projects that reduce atmospheric carbon (think forest restoration or the planting of trees). This partnership will enable us to get even closer to the sustainable future for which we’re working and hoping.
