The Buc: Designed For Everyone
The Buc shuttle includes a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV) so more people can travel around Buckhead safely, comfortably, and independently. Accessibility is built into the service from the start, making it easier for riders who use manual wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs, or mobility scooters to take part in everyday trips like getting to work, meeting friends, running errands, or attending events. When needed, the service supports curb to curb and door to door trips to reduce barriers and improve ease of travel. Wheelchair accessible vehicles can accommodate wheelchairs up to 31 inches wide and a combined rider and device weight of up to 800 pounds. The goal is simple. Make everyday trips possible without requiring a personal vehicle, complicated planning, or special arrangements.
How to request a wheelchair accessible vehicle: Riders can request a WAV in advance through The Buc app or by phone.

A commitment to equitable mobility in Buckhead: The Buc is part of a broader investment in equitable transportation led by Buckhead Community Improvement District and Livable Buckhead. Together, we support transportation options that reduce barriers, expand access, and give people of all abilities greater freedom to move through the district.
Equitable transportation plays a critical role in connecting people to jobs, healthcare, education, and community life. Research from the Urban Institute shows that limited access to reliable and affordable transportation is directly linked to lower economic mobility and fewer employment opportunities, particularly in areas where daily trips depend on short local connections rather than long commutes. Ensuring multiple, accessible transportation options helps communities function more inclusively and supports long term economic and social outcomes. By offering wheelchair accessible vehicles alongside standard service, the Buc helps ensure that getting around Buckhead is not limited by mobility, parking availability, or cost.
