In Development, Health and Wellness, Mobility

The Vision Zero Action Plan was launched in October 2022 and is an initiative of the Atlanta Department of Transportation (ATLDOT) and City of Atlanta (COA) to develop specific strategies for making streets safer through design improvements and policy measures. The overall goal of the plan is to eliminate all traffic fatalities and serious injuries in the city.

Updates from the City of Atlanta regarding the Vision Zero Action Plan include:

Livable Buckhead is supporting The Vision Zero Action Plan in our community through partnering with Sarah Smith Elementary School on their upcoming Walk (or Bike) to School Day Event. The event will take place on April 14th at 8AM and encourages students to walk to school with their teachers, parents, and pets. Walk to School Day events work to create safer routes for walking and bicycling and emphasizing the importance of pedestrian safety and concern for the environment while building connections between families, schools, and the broader community.

Livable Buckhead also supports The Vision Zero action plan by leading our weekly run club to provide an opportunity for people in the community to enjoy a safe group run and/or walk along PATH400. Livable Buckhead is committed to ensuring our community is participating in safe walking practices and encouraging people to utilize PATH400 for their daily routines.
