HIGHLIGHTS

• First multi-lane roundabout within Atlanta city limits will bring connectivity and safety for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists
• Project implementation will ease traffic flow through the Wieuca Road and Phipps Boulevard intersection
• Landscaping of 85′ wide central island will beautify area between residential neighborhood and business district

Wieuca Road @ Phipps Blvd Roundabout – the city’s first-ever, multi-lane roundabout – will ease rush hour traffic congestion and reduce crash severity and frequency at one of Buckhead’s busiest intersections, Wieuca Road and Phipps Boulevard. Equipped with bike lanes and crosswalks, the project will increase pedestrian visibility and improve safety for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians. The 85-foot-wide island will also beautify the area, adding low vegetation landscaping, lighting, artwork, planter boxes and more to brighten the surrounding areas.

The City of Atlanta and the Buckhead CID are provided funding for the $4 million project scheduled to begin construction in April 2024.
