Livable Buckhead Brings Holiday Sparkle to the Season

Tree lighting in Charlie Loudermilk Park, two hot chocolate crawls, Santa rides the Buc and a donation drive fill the season with festivities

ATLANTA – November 20, 2022 – Livable Buckhead is set to create another “Miracle on Peachtree” this holiday season, with festive events including hot chocolate crawls, Buc rides with Santa and a Christmas tree lighting in Charlie Loudermilk park.

“Miracle on Peachtree has something for everyone,” said Denise Starling, executive director of Livable Buckhead. “Come get a taste of the holiday spirit!”

The Buc Gives Back Holiday Hope Drive, November 27-December 20: This holiday season, the Buc community is embracing the spirit of giving through the Holiday Hope Drive. We’re on a mission to support two remarkable Atlanta-based charities, BCM Georgia and Lost-n-Found Youth, with the aim of making a meaningful difference in the lives of Georgians facing a housing crisis and Atlanta’s LGBTQ+ youth. Items welcome include grocery gift cards or debit cards of $10-$50, individual tuna packets, single-serve fruit cups, 8 oz. waters and financial contributions. Donations are tax-deductible.

Santa Rides the Buc, Thursday, Dec. 7 and Friday, Dec. 8, 3 to 7 p.m.: Santa Claus is making a special stop on the Buc with an enchanting pop-up holiday experience. Enjoy a decked-out shuttle ride, strike a pose at the photo-op station, indulge in sweet treats and snag some fantastic swag giveaways.

Wreath Decorating for Atlanta Fire Rescue and Atlanta Police Department, Saturday, Dec. 2, 12 to 4 p.m.: Show your support for the first responders at Atlanta Fire Rescue and Atlanta Police Departments by decorating wreaths that will add holiday cheer to fire stations and police precincts across the city throughout the season. This event will take place near Buckhead Library, 269 Buckhead Ave. NE.

Hot Chocolate Crawl at Buckhead Village, Saturday, Dec. 2, 4 to 7 p.m.: Livable Buckhead invites visitors to stroll in Buckhead Village District and adjacent areas, stopping at designated locations to enjoy hot chocolate and specialty cocktails along the way. Local musicians and holiday music will add to the festive atmosphere with performances at various points along the walking route. Admission is free and a commemorative campfire mug is available for a $5 donation to Livable Buckhead.

Tree Lighting in Charlie Loudermilk Park, Saturday, Dec. 2, 7 to 7:30 p.m.: Livable Buckhead invites visitors to stroll from the Hot Chocolate Crawl in Buckhead Village District to Charlie Loudermilk Park (3110 Roswell Rd. NE) for a Holiday Tree Lighting. The Georgia Boy Choir will perform carols and holiday classics during this free celebration to welcome the holiday season and light Buckhead’s 24-foot tree. Guests will also enjoy hot chocolate and festive snacks from Trader Joe’s.

Hot Chocolate Crawl on Peachtree, Saturday, Dec. 9, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.: On Saturday, December 9th Livable Buckhead invites visitors to stroll Peachtree Road, Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza areas, stopping at designated locations to enjoy hot chocolate and specialty cocktails along the way. Local musicians and holiday music will add to the festive atmosphere with performances at various points along the walking route. Admission is free. Check in at the Lenox Square main entrance and make a $5 donation to Livable Buckhead to receive a commemorative ceramic campfire mug.
