Goodbye Trust Falls, Hello PARK(ing) Day

 In Community, Employer

Office cultures are shifting, ping pong tables in break rooms and a requirement for a strong company culture are all things that are discussed when hiring new employees, as well vital to the retention of your current workforce. We know not everyone wants to add a keg in common space, but most want to create an authentic culture that support their employees and ensures they feel apart of a team.

However, that authentic culture can be difficult to achieve. When the words like “Team Building” are thrown out, it often evokes nauseating images of trust falls, peppy motivational jargon and forced corporate bonding. So, I solemnly swear, we are NOT advocating for your management teams to mimic Steve Carell’s insanely-awkward-try-hard leadership style because well, that’s lame.

Instead, why not find a more creative way to foster those collaborative experiences? Not sure, how to create or find that sort of environment? Well, wouldn’t you, know it – I’ve got the perfect opportunity just for you.

Let’s start with a FREE craft cocktail at ASW Distillery this Thursday (8/15) 5-6:30 for our Build and Booze: PARK(ing) Day Brainstorm Session. You and your team with the help of our friends at HGOR and Urban Enterprises will work together to design and plan a temporary parklet for our annual PARK(ing) Day event. Anyone and everyone is open to sign up for PARK(ing) Day. We’ve had banks, architects, non-profits, universities, co-working spaces and tech companies all utilize PARK(ing) Day as an opportunity to collaborate and temporarily transform parking spaces usually reserved for cars into temporary public parks or displays of art or community.

Research shows, team building creates trust, mitigates conflict, encourages communication, and increases collaboration. Effective team building means more engaged employees, which is good for company culture and boosting the bottom line. Who wouldn’t want all that? Horrible people, that’s who. So, join us for our Build and Booze event (or collaborate solo – that’s fine too!) to learn more about how you and you’re team can build a park that not only represent YOU (hello unique marketing!) and your company but it’s an opportunity for your employees to come together, think creatively and support a cause we can all get behind, MORE parks.

Interested in learning more? Signup as an official park HERE or join us Thursday at our Build and Booze Event at ASW. We kindly ask that you shoot me an email our way if you plan to attend or if you have questions.
