Picture Your PATH

How would you “Picture Your PATH”?

Livable Buckhead and local Girl Scout, Katie Maier, have partnered to sponsor an art contest for all elementary and middle school students in greater Atlanta.

In 2015, Katie was one of the winners of the Livable Buckhead “Playing with Shadows” contest, and her design is one of several featured along PATH400. In aspiring to achieve her Girl Scout Gold Award, Katie decided to share the excitement of outdoor art with others. Eight winners were chosen from dozens of entries with their original designs coming to life as full-scale murals on the supporting columns of GA400, sweeping overhead in the natural beauty of Mountain Way Common.

Just In Time For Earth Day

Eight student winners of the “Picture Your PATH” art contest painted their nature-themed murals along a future segment of the PATH400 trail. The students worked with Girl Scout Katie Maier, who organized the contest as part of her Gold Star project.

Atlanta-based artist Wallace Kelly helped these budding artists recreate their drawing and painting as full-scale murals.

The Picture Your PATH murals beautify a section of Mountain Way Common where Buckhead’s PATH400 trail will one day run through the park. Winning designs include beautiful floral patterns, wildlife animals such as fox and deer, as well as colorful hummingbirds.
