Project Scope: The applicant is proposing to demolish the long-vacant structure that formerly housed Houston’s Restaurant. The structure has fallen into substantial disrepair and has encouraged unlawful activity in and around the structure in addition to being an eyesore at the corner of Lenox Road and East Paces Ferry Road. There is no build-back plan proposed.

Additional Recommendations:
The DRC recommended that the City of Atlanta reconsider the requirement that derelict buildings that pose a safety hazard cannot be demolished without a build-back plan. The DRC listed several city officials that should be contacted to discuss Buckhead’s concerns as to the impacts to our community. The DRC also suggested the applicant discuss and pursue possible relief from the Department of Buildings to remove the structure..
