Development Review Committee
SPI-9
Buckhead Community Improvement District partnered with the City of Atlanta, sister organization BATMA (organization preceding Livable Buckhead), and local resident neighbors through Neighborhood Planning Unit B to develop a new zoning ordinance that covers a significant part of the Buckhead commercial area.
The zoning, adopted by Atlanta City Council on October 4, 2010, sets the stage for a more walkable, urban community enriched with public art and parks, wide sidewalks, greenspace, transportation options, and outdoor dining, all designed to have international appeal.
DRC meetings are open to the public and take place on the first Wednesday of each month via Zoom. The SPI-9 DRC meeting begins at 1:00pm.
Please fill out and submit the sustainability checklist survey the Friday prior to your scheduled appearance before the DRC. Failure to submit on time may delay review of your project.
The City of Atlanta now has an email address where the general public can submit comments to them directly about any projects that come before the SPI-9 DRC.
SPI-12
Special Public Interest District 12 covers the commercial core of the Buckhead Community surrounding the two malls and the major high rise office developments. This zoning overlay district was one of the first ever written in the City and one of the last to be incorporated into the underlying zoning. In 2011, the Buckhead Community Improvement District and sister organization, BATMA (organization preceding Livable Buckhead), began updating this district to incorporate public art, transportation options, connectivity and greenspace among other changes, with all changes having been completed in Summer of 2012.
DRC meetings are open to the public and take place on the first Wednesday of each month via Zoom. The SPI-12 DRC meeting begins at 3:00pm.
Please fill out and submit the sustainability checklist survey the Friday prior to your scheduled appearance before the DRC. Failure to submit on time may delay review of your project.
