Weekend Warrior: PATH400

September 20, 2020

Weekends are for greenspace! We encourage our participants to visit a local park, trail or greenspace and just get outside over the the weekend. There’s no requirement on the park that you visit. Each week participants will have an opportunity to earn 75 points for visiting a new local park or trail during the challenge.

Interested in learning about new parks to explore? Livable Buckhead has joined forces with REI and 9 other organizations to encourage Metro Atlanta residents to get outside and visit a local park by participating in a separate challenge called Hikes For Health.

This weekend check out Livable Buckhead’s PATH400.

PATH400 is open, and it has become a favorite spot for Buckhead walkers, joggers, bikers and pet owners to get out for some fresh air and exercise. PATH400 runs along the spine of GA 400 and, once complete, will provide a 5.2 mile greenway through the heart of Buckhead, connecting neighborhoods, office and retail locations with a path for bicyclists and pedestrians. The multi-use greenway will eventually join with the Atlanta Beltline in the south and trails in Sandy Springs and north Fulton County, providing a key link in a regional trail network.

PATH400 is the first step toward implementation of the Buckhead Collection, a planned network of 106 acres of parks and trails in the neighborhood. Livable Buckhead is spearheading the PATH400 project in partnership with the Buckhead Community Improvement District (Buckhead CID) and the PATH Foundation.
