Weekend Warrior: Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy
August 29, 2020
Weekends are for greenspace! We encourage our participants to visit a local park, trail or greenspace and just get outside over the the weekend. There’s no requirement on the park that you visit. Each week participants will have an opportunity to earn 75 points for visiting a new local park or trail during the challenge.
Interested in learning about new parks to explore? Livable Buckhead has joined forces with REI and 9 other organizations to encourage Metro Atlanta residents to get outside and visit a local park by participating in a separate challenge called Hikes For Health.
This weekend, check out the Hooch. The Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy is the official nonprofit partner – or friends group – for the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area (CRNRA): a series of parklands along a 48-mile stretch of an iconic waterway that flows through metropolitan Atlanta, providing urban recreation and drinking water to millions of people. With nearly 7,000 acres of parkland, the CRNRA comprises two-thirds of all the public greenspace in the metro region.
The CRNRA includes a 48-mile stretch of an iconic waterway that flows through metro Atlanta and a series of park lands in fifteen units along the river. The CRNRA provides urban recreation and drinking water for millions of people annually and is one of the top forty, most-visited national park units in the country.
