Multifamily Residential Resources

The Buckhead apartment market enjoys exceptional strength and stability, and outlook remains bright for Atlanta’s multifamily developers, owners and investors. Although the growth rate has slowed down compared to previous decades, metropolitan Atlanta is still booming and growing at a much healthier pace. As the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) reports, the biggest driver of growth is jobs, with the housing market struggling to keep up with the influx of new residents.

Livable Buckhead is here to help your property and residents thrive in both Buckhead and metro Atlanta.

Sustainability

If you own or operate a multifamily property, we have an exciting new program that offers FREE resources and technical assistance to boost the efficiency and efficacy of your recycling program.

Buckhead accounts for almost 10% of all electric vehicles (EV) registered in Georgia. And while gas stations may seem to be everywhere, charging stations may be harder to find. Livable Buckhead is working to deliver a completed EV infrastructure for Buckhead through our EVery Mile Campaign so that no EV user in Buckhead is more than one mile from an EV charger.

Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) is affordable financing that allows property owners to pay for upgrades that increase energy efficiency, harness renewable energy, conserve water, and protect against storms.

Mobility

Livable Buckhead offers MARTA Breeze Cards at a 20% discount to companies. The cards are reloaded electronically by Livable Buckhead and MARTA, saving commuters time and hassle and adding an easy, new amenity to your property.

Choosing a commute alternative not only saves money, it also earns you money. Through Georgia Commute Options, Buckhead commuters can earn cash and prizes by logging their clean commutes.

The Buckhead Community Improvement District (BCID), Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Atlanta Gas Light (AGL) are kicking off major construction projects in the coming weeks and months, which are slated for major thoroughfares in Buckhead’s central business district.

Last mile connectivity options are a positive and essential part to making public transit viable for most people. If you’re unsure, last mile connectivity is the short distance someone may need to take a car, bike or walk to reach a transit station. Or even from the station to their destination. For those who are farther than walking distance to a station, they must depend on a different mode to get them there.

Safety

Leaders from 11 business and civic organizations, local government and law enforcement released the Buckhead Security Plan, a blueprint for addressing rising crime in Buckhead. The Buckhead Security Plan includes near-term and longer-term actions to increase the safety and security of people who live in, work in and visit Buckhead for shopping and entertainment.

Police officers make great neighbors, and we’d like to have more of them in Buckhead! Thanks to funding from the Buckhead Community Improvement District and in cooperation with the Atlanta Police Foundation, Atlanta Police Department officers are eligible for a one-year housing subsidy of $650 per month.

The Atlanta Police Department is rolling out a new initiative to fight crime by asking the public to share the images and footage captured on their private surveillance camera systems and devices. The process for doing this is easy and cost effective and it is a great way to help deter, and solve crime in your neighborhood.

Property owners and managers across Buckhead are banning together to combat crime – especially vehicle break-ins. There are two ways you can help: Help us spread the “Take, Hide, Lock” message.

Community

PATH400 is open, and it has become a favorite spot for Buckhead walkers, joggers, bikers and pet owners to get out for some fresh air and exercise. PATH400 runs along the spine of GA 400 and, once complete, will provide a 5.2 mile greenway through the heart of Buckhead, connecting neighborhoods, office and retail locations with a path for bicyclists and pedestrians.

In today’s world, greenspace is no longer a luxury – it is an integral part of a community that is thriving socially, environmentally and economically. Livable Buckhead is creating a interconnected network of parks, trails and green spaces serving the needs of Buckhead’s residents, workers and visitors.

Public art invites people in and encourages them to explore what the community has to offer. Livable Buckhead is working towards the development of a public arts program that celebrates Buckhead’s history and culture while providing a compelling walking environment, a world-class aesthetic and an authentic sense of place.

No vibrant community is complete without a robust offering of events. In addition to the myriad of events happening throughout Buckhead, Livable Buckhead also offers opportunities to have fun, relax and to volunteer to help your community. Check back often as we continually add events.

Housing

There are more than 90 apartment communities throughout the city of Atlanta that offer AH rental assistance to low-income families and individuals, including some communities for SENIORS ONLY or PERSONS 55 AND OLDER ONLY.

The transformation of Buckhead began more than fifteen years ago, with release of the Buckhead Action Plan, which set in motion a framework for collaboration and a series of improvements to connect area parks, trails, schools, and neighborhoods to Buckhead’s central core and transit. Today’s residents, employees and visitors are discovering how connectivity and mobility options are enhancing quality of life.

From a relatively small bedroom community populated by local businesses, Buckhead has grown to become Atlanta’s premier business district, with approximately 20 million square feet of office space.
