Making Every Day Earth Day

 In Community, Waste

***Guest blog: Lindsey Jones – Area Marketing Director, Lenox Square***

As Earth Day approaches, it’s time for us all to think about how we can contribute to a greener, more sustainable future. One impactful way to do this is by responsibly disposing of unwanted electronics. Fortunately for Buckhead residents and businesses, there’s a convenient and complimentary opportunity just around the corner.

On Saturday, April 20th, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Lenox Square, in partnership with Georgia Natural Gas (GNG) and eWaste ePlanet, will be hosting an Electronic Recycling Event in  the Dining Pavilion parking lot. This initiative aims to provide a responsible avenue for disposing of old electronics while simultaneously promoting environmental consciousness within the community.

The event couldn’t come at a better time. With technology advancing rapidly, many of us find ourselves accumulating outdated gadgets faster than we know what to do with them. From old cell phones and computers to televisions and printers, these electronics often end up neglected in our homes or worse, improperly disposed of in landfills, posing a threat to our environment.

By participating in Lenox Square’s Recycling Drive, you can ensure that your unwanted electronics are recycled responsibly by eWaste ePlanet, an R2.v3 certified electronics recycling and data destruction provider. Last year’s event was a tremendous success, with almost 30,000 pounds of electronics diverted from landfills. This year, our goal is even loftier: we aim to recycle 40,000 pounds of consumer electronics.

Aside from the satisfaction of contributing to a cleaner planet, attendees can also look forward to giveaways and the chance to win a $500 Simon gift card.

As we approach Earth Day, let’s seize this opportunity to make a tangible difference in our community and planet. Join us at Lenox Square on April 20th, and together, let’s pave the way towards a greener, more sustainable future.
