Another Year, Another PARK(ing) Day
As we head into summer, our team here at Livable Buckhead is gearing up for our favorite event. This year’s PARK(ing) Day will once again be held at the front parking lot of Lenox Square and will take place on Friday, September 27th.
With all our ducks in a row, we’re set and ready to begin bringing on our parks. With over 2,000 visitors to our parks last year we’re confident this year will be BIGGER than ever.
Never heard of PARK(ing) Day before? It’s only the single most amazing event of the year. It’s held annually across the globe and aimed at changing the prospective on how we use public spaces. In Buckhead, we celebrate by taking over the largest parking lot in Buckhead – Lenox Square and inviting companies, individuals, non-profit, schools and everyone else in-between to spend the day building a temporary park in a parking space.
In the City of Atlanta, did you know Buckhead is the least “parked” portion of the city? Here at Livable Buckhead, we see a need as a community for more public green space and we’re doing so through creation of PATH400, Old Ivy Park, Mountain Way Common, Loridans Park and through your help with the temporary parks built for PARK(ing) Day.
What does that have to do with you or your company? Well dear friends, by participating in PARK(ing) Day, you’re showcasing not only yourself or your company to the community but utilizing a unique opportunity to support awareness on the necessity for more greenspace and community activations in Buckhead.
So, let’s recap the benefits of PARK(ing) Day:
- Supporting a mission for more greenspace
- Showcase your company or brand in a unique way
- Creating meaningful experiences for team building for your employees
Did I mention, it’s also A LOT of fun?
Still not sure how to build a park? We have your back. On August 15th, all confirmed parks/teams are invited to participate in PARK(ing) Day’s Build and Booze event at ASW Distillery from 5-7. We’ll have a few cocktails, brainstorm some fun and creative ways to build your park with the assistance of some PARK(ing) Day veterans.
