What is the Better Habits, Better You Challenge?
Join Livable Buckhead’s four-week virtual challenge to create better habits while working from home. Livable Buckhead wants to help you better manage your time and stay effective by providing quick, daily activities that focus on sustainability at home, work from home best practices and health & wellness. Earn points by tracking your daily activities each week. This virtual challenge is open to the entire Buckhead workforce as well as Buckhead residents.
Weekly Prizes
Each week one person will receive one of following prizes:
- $25 REI Gift Card
- $25.00 gift certificates for fresh produce from a local CSA, Moore Farms and Friends
- Gift basket worth $75 from Chef Suzi Sheffield of Beautiful Briny Sea
Grand Prize (Provided by the South East Chapter of the Association for Commuter Transportation (SEACT):
- $250 Airbnb gift card
- One Georgia Parks Annual Pass
How does it work?
We encourage you to complete each daily challenge on the corresponding day, however if Tuesdays work better for completing a DIY project or visiting a local park – go for it. Each participant has one full week to complete the six challenges to be eligible for the weekly prize giveaway. You can complete challenges at any time during the challenge as long as you submit all logs by 11:59pm on September, 20th to be eligible for the grand prize. To be eligible for the weekly prize, you must submit activities by Sunday at 11:59PM of that week.

Step 3: Submit your activities weekly to Livable Buckhead by 11:59 pm each Sunday to be eligible for the weekly prize.
Participants are in charge of tracking and submitting weekly activities of activities for points using the “submit a weekly log” button below
Event Points:
- Attending an event or completing an activity: 25 Points
- Attending a live event will earn an additional 25 points
- Visiting a park over the weekend: 75 Points

While daily themes will stay the same throughout the challenge, there will be a new activity every week that will challenge you to create better habits. Check out the calendar link below to familiarize yourself with all upcoming activities.
Movement Mondays: Complete at least 30 minutes of a physical or wellness activity.
Sustainable Tuesdays: Complete a webinar or task to learn about long-term solutions for your home.
Whip It Up Wednesdays: Learn new recipes and quick lunches for your busy weekdays.
Work From Home Thursdays: Complete a webinar or task to learn better work from home habits.
DIY Fridays: Start a new hobby or learn a new skill with Livable Buckhead ideas or your own.
Weekend Warrior: Explore. Hike. Bike. Be active on the weekends by visiting your local parks and trails.
Zoom Meeting: Meeting link invitation and password will be included in weekly challenge emails sent on Monday mornings and will be available in the calendar of events.

Movement Mondays
On Mondays we get moving! Your daily challenge is to complete at least 30 minutes of a physical or wellness activity. Each Monday BACH Fitness, a Functional Strength Training studio in Buckhead, will host live and/or prerecorded 30-minute High-Intensity Strength Training & 45-minute Bodyworks Classes (low-impact functional strengthening and lengthening) classes for a quick (and challenging!) way to break a sweat. Week 1: August 24th – Prerecorded BACH Class
Week 2: August 31st – Live BACH Class (6PM)
Week 3: September 7th – Live BACH Class (9AM)
Week 4: September 14th – Live BACH Class (6PM)
We understand everyone has a preference when it comes to fitness, which is why we have opened this challenge to include ANY type of physical activity performed for at least 30 minutes continuously. You have an entire week to complete this activity but we do hope you choose to Monday as your fitness day! For a daily max of 25 points, you can submit ANY wellness/physical activity, as long as you’re hitting your 30 minutes.

Sustainable Tuesdays
Each week Livable Buckhead will provide free videos and guidance on how to be more sustainable in your home. Activities will range from webinars on how to recycle to simple checklists that identify easy ways to be more eco-friendly. We are upping the ante for our live classes, which will be worth double (50 points each) for joining the LIVE Zoom event.

Whip It Up Wednesdays
With Chef Laureen Herzig – peace love food
Each Wednesday, we will partner with peace love food Chef Laureen Herzig to break up your day with easy lunch recipes and live cooking classes! At the beginning of each week, Livable Buckhead will provide that week’s recipe so you can purchase the ingredients and follow along at home. Each live cooking class will be hosted at 12PM and last 20 minutes or less.

Work From Home Thursdays
Each Thursday, Livable Buckhead will provide free resources and webinars that will ensure you have all the tools to continue being a successful WFH employee. Each week there will be a new activity or webinar geared towards the ergonomics of your office, prioritizing your time and staying productive while out of the office. You will earn double the points for joining the live webinars!

DIY Fridays
Our Friday challenge is an opportunity for you to hone in on a new project or hobby of your choosing. Maybe you missed the homemade bread trend or perhaps learning a new language or skill is your thing. Use this weekly challenge as your excuse to jump headfirst into a new habit or skill. There’s no curated content on Fridays but we have provided a few fun and (mostly) free resources in each Fridays event page.

We encourage you to complete each daily challenge on the corresponding day. However, each participant has the entire week to complete the Friday challenge and submit by Sunday at 11:59PM.
Weekend Warrior
Weekends are for greenspace! We encourage our participants to visit a local park, trail or greenspace and just get outside over the the weekend. There’s no requirement on the park that you visit. Each week participants will have an opportunity to earn 75 points for visiting a new local park or trail during the challenge.
Interested in learning about new parks to explore? Livable Buckhead has joined forces with REI and 9 other organizations to encourage Metro Atlanta residents to get outside and visit a local park by participating in a separate challenge called Hikes For Health.
