Let’s Get Ready for America Recycles Day

 In Waste

Reduce. Recycle. Reuse

Follow us on our series ‘Let’s Talk Recycling.’ Recycling is a large part of a sustainable future and something we can all take part in as a community.

America Recycles Day (ARD) is upon us. It’s time to spread the word. On November 15th, our nation has one day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling. The holiday was created in 1997 by the National Recycling Coalition. The day is meant to educate and encourage people on how to properly recycle and be more conscious about their consumption.

Recycling promotes sustainability and will help make sure there are plenty of resources generations to come. In 2009, Keep America Beautiful took over the initiative and facilitates various environmental events. A majority of Americans support recycling and consumers are wanting more products made from recycled materials. Municipalities want recycling to help reduce the need for landfills. So, what can you do to contribute and raise awareness on November 15th?

  • Make the commitment to recycle more and encourage friends to do the same. You can join myself and over 88000 people pledging to learn, act, and share right here.
  • Learn more about your local recycling system.
  • Donate to places like CHaRM recycling organizations.
  • Spread the word by using #AmericaRecyclesDay on your social medias.
  • Join a local clean up initiative or gather some family and friends to clean up an area at a park, beach, or trail.
  • Learn about hard to recycle materials

What you do matters. Let’s all ban together on November 15th to create a greener cleaner world.
