iAccess Life Mobility Spotlight
Accessibility is not just a box you check.
Livable Buckhead recently had the opportunity to meet Brandon Winfield and learn about his solution to help enhance mobility for all. Through his role at Atlanta Tech Village, he champions underrepresented tech entrepreneurs, guiding them on the path to success via the ‘It takes a Village’ pre-accelerator program.
Hailing from Johns Creek, Georgia, Brandon Winfield’s childhood dreams of becoming a professional motocross rider were abruptly interrupted at the age of 14. An unexpected accident during a motocross event in Tennessee left him with a T-7-T-8 spinal cord injury, causing paralysis from his chest down.
Brandon’s rehabilitation journey at Shepherd Center opened his eyes to the invaluable support and resources available. Yet, as he reintegrated into an active lifestyle, he encountered significant challenges navigating inaccessible spaces, which sparked the genesis of his innovative idea.
Feeling restricted by the limitations of accessibility, Brandon envisioned a solution to empower individuals like himself. Thus, iAccess Life was born—a mobile app revolutionizing accessibility awareness through crowdsourced information on venues worldwide.
The app allows users to rate and review venues based on their parking, entrance, bathrooms and interior space, fostering confidence and inclusivity in leisure and daily activities. Brandon’s vision transcends mere functionality; it aims to cultivate a community where everyone can explore and engage with the world uninhibitedly.
Livable Buckhead encourages anyone with accessibility needs or advocates to sign up and start exploring and rating areas around the community. Be the first to rate your favorite spots and help others before they go. If you have any questions about iAccess Life – please email info@iaccess.life or visit www.iaccesslife.com.
