Goodwill Of North Georgia: 6 Years of Providing Transit Benefits
Livable Buckhead has chosen Goodwill of North Georgia as our second quarter Mobility Spotlight! Goodwill of North Georgia has been in operation since 1925 and serves as a nonprofit organization with a mission to put people to work. They are guided by their core values that include:

Goodwill has a long-standing commitment to responsible management which they believe is fundamental to their mission impact and long-term sustainability. Goodwill of North Georgia joined Livable Buckhead’s discounted MARTA transit pass program in October 2018. They decided to implement transit benefits to further enhance their existing employee benefits package and improve employee recruitment and retention.
Livable Buckhead’s discounted MARTA pass program is an easy way for companies to support commute options and expand their benefits package. Our program not only allows companies the ability to enhance employee recruitment and retention efforts but it also helps companies reach their corporate sustainability goals.
Between 2018 and 2019, Goodwill of North Georgia had an average of 50 employees receiving the monthly discounted benefit and taking transit. Post-pandemic, Goodwill has 31 employees receiving the benefit on a monthly basis. On average between 2018-2019, vehicles miles reduced (VMR) from employees utilizing transit was 374,400 miles, reducing CO2 emissions annually by 102.83 metric tons. Currently in 2023, VMR from employees using transit is approximately 231,138 miles, reducing CO2 emissions annually by 63.48 metric tons.
