Georgia 400 Hospitality Highway Turns 18
What began as a collaborative marketing effort between Alpharetta and Roswell, Georgia by Janet Rodgers, President and CEO of the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau, and then Executive Director of Visit Roswell, Dotty Etris, turned into a promotional partnership shared between seven communities extending the length of Georgia 400, known as Hospitality Highway.
Buckhead, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Alpharetta, Forsyth County, Dawsonville and Dahlonega make up the Hospitality Highway alliance, sharing the message that no matter what a visitor may be looking for in a getaway, it can be found along Georgia 400’s Hospitality Highway. Family’s, couples, friends and solo travelers can find a plethora of experiences as they exit off of Georgia 400 into each community. You could spend one night in each destination and not have the same experience twice! From shopping and outdoor adventures to dining and attractions, visitors will have a stacked itinerary from start to finish.
Throughout the 18 years that Hospitality Highway has existed, the alliance has earned many accolades. In 2007, Georgia 400 was officially designated as Hospitality Highway by then Governor of Georgia, George Ervin “Sonny” Perdue III. From there, Hospitality Highway has gone on to win awards such as an STS Shining Example from the Southeast Tourism Society, as well as honors from The Georgia Department of Economic Development and Georgia Association of Convention & Visitors Bureau for the Partnership Champion Award.
The Hospitality Highway partners manage a wide variety of marketing and advertising efforts including social media channels, digital ad campaigns, the www.hospitalityhighway.com website and rack cards distributed throughout the southeast with the tagline, “City Streets to Mountain Retreats.”
“Year-round, you can find fun festivals, sensational shopping, outstanding outdoor adventures and delicious dining up and down the length of Georgia 400,” says Janet Rodgers, President and CEO of the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Collaborating with each community allows all of us to layer into each other’s audiences and encourage visitors to extend their time along Hospitality Highway a little longer to experience all we have to offer!”
