PATH400 Tree Protection Volunteer Event

January 16, 2021 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Come join us on PATH400 for a fun morning outdoors tending to our trees. We have a family of beavers who’ve made their home in the detention pond along PATH400, just south of the Peachtree Drive entrance. They’re doing what they do best and chopping down our newly planted trees for food and building materials. In order to steer the beavers away from our newly planted, smaller trees along the trail, we’ll be wrapping a number of trees with wire. This is a great opportunity to get involved in your local community and have a little fun outdoors.
Project date, time, & location:
• Saturday, January 16th 10:30 am – 12 pm
• PATH400 – enter where East Paces Ferry Road NE and Peachtree Drive NE meet. You can use 3399 Peachtree Drive NE, Atlanta, GA 30305 as your destination point for directions. You may park along East Paces Ferry Road NE or Peachtree Drive NE. Please be sure not to block any mailboxes or driveway entrances.
The details:
• No previous experience is necessary, just a willingness to pitch in, get a little dirty, and have some fun making a tangible difference along PATH400.
• Volunteers will be helping to wrap trees in wire to protect newly planted trees.
• All volunteers must wear masks and stay socially distanced from one another throughout the event.
• All volunteers must sign a liability waiver prior to participating in our group service program.
• All tools and materials will be provided by Livable Buckhead.
• Please wear clothes and shoes you do not mind getting dirty.
• In addition to wrapping trees, volunteers may be asked to pick up litter along the trail.
