Composting in Buckhead

Livable Buckhead is so excited to kick off a composting pilot in our own office with our friends CompostNow!

This service takes all the guess work out of composting in your office – they deliver a beautiful, stainless steel stepcan, provide compostable bags, and come to your office to pick up the compost every week. They will even come to your office for a kickoff event and teach you what you can and can’t compost! It is so easy!

We will update you on our progress and how much our little office of 15 people diverts food waste from landfill to turn into rich soil provided to Atlanta gardens!

• ReFED, a national nonprofit dedicated to reducing U.S. food waste, reports that more than 52 million tons of food are sent to landfills around the United States each year.
• Wasted food consumes 21% of all water used in this country
• Wasted food consumes 19% of fertilizers used
• Wasted food consumes 18% of our cropland
• Wasted food consumes 21% of our landfills
