The Dirt on PATH400

 In Greenspace, PATH400

Denise Starling, executive director of Livable Buckhead, gives us the dirt on PATH400 progress.

Girl Power: The Women Behind PATH400

I think it’s high time we give a huge shoutout to the incredible women behind the PATH400 project. You all know me as the head chick in charge, but this project wouldn’t be the success it is without the fantastic women making it happen. No shade to the guys — this is all about celebrating the phenomenal ladies on our team!

MICHELLE HIROSE

Let’s start with our rock star Project Manager at PATH Foundation. Michelle is the “Task Master” of this section, ensuring that every detail is attended to. From crosschecking plans to managing contractor performance and overseeing tests and billing, Michelle keeps everything running smoothly with precision and diligence. This is no small job, and she runs a tight ship!

MARY CAUSEY

Mary is our Project Manager for the City of Atlanta, affectionately known as the “PATH400 Cat Herder.” She navigates the maze of legislation, contracts, and payments with skill and perseverance, ensuring that everything from legal matters to financial flows is handled flawlessly. Her patience and dedication are truly admirable.

GRETA DEMAYO

As the head of PATH Foundation, Greta is the mastermind keeping all their projects on track, on budget and on schedule. She works closely with me behind the scenes to align funding and project timelines, ensuring we meet our goals efficiently.

KIM NESBITT

The “GDOT Secret Weapon,” Kim is a powerhouse in project delivery. Her no-nonsense attitude and problem-solving prowess have been invaluable to PATH400. Whether tackling big challenges or innovating solutions, Kim’s expertise has been a game changer for our project. Whenever I have a big problem or want to do something a different way, she is the one who can figure it out.

MARY HAYS

Fresh out of Georgia Tech, Mary is our Junior Project Manager at PATH Foundation and is currently leading PATH400’s Miami Circle Gateway project. Under Michelle’s guidance, Mary is quickly mastering the ropes and showing great promise in her role.

KATIE CARHART

Katie is the creative force behind PATH400’s graphics, website, and social media. She transforms complex project details into engaging stories and eye-catching content, and she recently managed the development of our new PATH400 website – check it out! She is also the one who tries to edit me and keep me from saying naughty things (heeheehee).

DONNA DODSON

Donna is the creative juice behind all of our fun events, from 5Ks to llama adventures. Her efforts in organizing engaging activities help attract new people to the greenway, making PATH400 an exciting and vibrant community amenity.

REBECCA STOKES

Known around the office as MOB (mean ole B****H 😆), Rebecca is our Finance Director. She plays a crucial role in ensuring our finances are managed properly and every dollar is spent wisely, keeping our Chairman out of trouble.

ELSA SANTIAGO and NAZANINE ASHORI

Last but certainly not least – we can’t forget the dynamic duo on the ASTRA team who handle all of the billing, scheduling, permitting and insurance and generally keep things running smoothly on the contractor’s end!

Construction Update

It might seem slow while CW Matthews finishes up their bridge work, but they’ll be out soon. That’ll let our ASTRA crews focus on the Loridans Drive end of the trail. Currently, they’re prepping the slope behind Glengary Court for new trees — a process delayed by my messing with the landscape plans for maximum reforestation.

Handrails are also being fabricated offsite and should be ready for installation in a week or two. I can’t wait to see them and get back on that bridge!

Construction Tour: It’s tour time again! Join me on Saturday, September 21st at 10:00am.
