Susan G. Komen® Greater Atlanta MORE THAN PINK Walk™ Returns to Lenox Square on Saturday, May 4, 2019
Komen Atlanta has announced that the annual Komen Atlanta MORE THAN PINK Walk™ will return to Lenox Square on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. Early discounted event registration is just $10 through January 13 and is available at www.komenatlanta.org/walk.
This is the fifth year Komen Atlanta will host its signature event in the heart of Buckhead at Lenox Square. The walk follows a 2.5 mile route through Buckhead on iconic Peachtree Street with friends, families, co-workers and neighbors. At this annual event, supporters, survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer walk to raise funds for Komen Atlanta and to honor those who have been lost to the disease.
“The Komen Atlanta MORE THAN PINK Walk™ has been embraced by Atlantans because the funds raised at the event support local programs offering breast health education and screenings, along with cutting edge research to find the cures,” said Cati Diamond Stone, executive director of Susan G. Komen® Greater Atlanta. “It is our hope that this event will inspire our neighbors in Buckhead and the metro Atlanta community to want to do more for our community, more for caring for those living with breast cancer – especially metastatic breast cancer.”
The event also supports the Susan G. Komen® Bold Goal of reducing the current number of breast cancer deaths in the U.S. by 50% by 2026.
