Embodied Carbon In Buckhead Workshop Series

Final Report

Livable Buckhead, in partnership with ULI Atlanta, is proud to share the final report from our Embodied Carbon Workshop Series—a cornerstone of our ongoing efforts to make Buckhead the Southeast’s leading neighborhood for sustainable, future-forward development.

This work was made possible through a grant from the ULI Randall Lewis Center for Sustainability in Real Estate’s Net Zero Imperative, and represents the culmination of a multi-month initiative focused on advancing embodied carbon awareness and action in Buckhead’s commercial development.

As part of this effort, we convened members of Atlanta’s development, architecture, engineering, and policy communities to expand our shared understanding of embodied carbon—what it is, why it matters, and how we can address it through design, procurement, and zoning. Through thoughtful dialogue, technical workshops, and targeted stakeholder engagement, the report offers both a snapshot of current challenges and a roadmap for future solutions.

This initiative is a key piece of Livable Buckhead’s broader mission to ensure that Buckhead remains a great place to live, work, and play—today and for generations to come. We invite you to explore the report, dig into the recommendations, and join us in shaping a more resilient, low-carbon built environment.
