Do You Recycle?
Challenge for Buckhead Multifamily Properties
Atlanta’s Do You Recycle? Challenge – launched in partnership with The Recycling Partnership and Live Thrive – is engaging multifamily buildings citywide to provide recycling training and education to residents over the next 12 months, culminating in a public recognition event for participating properties. This is a free program with the goal of keeping more recyclables out of landfills and improving the quality of recyclables captured by multifamily properties.
The Do You Recycle? Challenge will provide training and education to property facility teams and residents, while measuring impacts along the way. Participating properties will be trained on how to use the Zabble Zero app to track and measure their recycling progress. The Challenge will culminate in a public recognition event in summer of 2022 for the properties with the highest achievements in improving recycling participation and reducing the amount trash or nonrecyclables in the recycling.

Intention of Challenge
The Do You Recycle Challenge (DYR Challenge) provides multi-family properties the tools and guidance needed to deliver and track recycling access and education to all residents through various community partnerships. The intention of the DYR Challenge is to engage multifamily properties in Atlanta to commit to reduce waste to landfill, improve recycling outcomes and allow residents to do their part.
Goals
Atlanta is home to nearly 1500 multifamily community properties, which represents approximately 140,000 individual homes. Over the next 12 months, the DYR Challenge will endeavor to engage at least 100 buildings (or 40,000 homes whichever comes first) into this voluntary challenge program. The ultimate goal of all of the work The Recycling Partnership is doing in Atlanta is to reduce contamination and improve participation in recycling. The DYR Challenge will provide training and education to our community program partners, the property facility teams, and ultimately the residents while measuring impacts along the way. The Challenge will culminate in a recognition event in summer of 2022.
Stakeholders
Managing Program Partner: LiveThrive Atlanta (an Atlanta based non-profit organization) will serve as the community hub for the DYR Challenge.
