Commute Plan: Cobb County

 In Employer, Mobility

If you live in Cobb (Acworth, Kennesaw, Marietta), there are several options to make your commute to Buckhead easier.

Driving to Buckhead daily can be taxing on a person. A single occupancy car ride takes approximately 30 minutes to get to the Buckhead Business District. That trip can take almost an hour and a half during morning and evening traffic.

Nevertheless, there are other options:

Transit:

Drive to MARTA – The most ideal station is the North Springs Station. This station has 2,235 free daily parking spots. From this station, one would take the Red Line to the Buckhead Station. This commute would take approximately 36 minutes. Taking MARTA would result in a shorter commute and allows for productivity on the train.

Park and Ride to MARTA – Take an Xpress bus to MARTA. The park and ride locations that would be most ideal to use would be Town Center Big Shanty Park and Ride. This Park and Ride is serviced by the following Xpress buses to take you to MARTA – 480, 482  and 483. Xpress service uses the new Northwest Corridor Express Lanes to help ensure guaranteed travel times. From the MARTA station, it is a quick ride to Buckhead Business District. For a limited time, you may be eligible to try transit for free.

Carpool:

Carpooling can help you save time, money and vehicle wear and tear while sharing the driving duties. It only takes two or more commuters riding in a personal vehicle to form a carpool. Livable Buckhead offers ride matching services, as well as incentives to help you share the ride.
