The Breeze cards purchased through the monthly discounted MARTA pass program are loaded with the unlimited monthly fare and can be used on MARTA buses and trains as many times as needed during the month.  Here are some tips to make sure that your card works each time you tap it.

The unlimited monthly fare is loaded onto a participant’s card and becomes active on the 1st of the month. To make sure that your card works, follow these tips.

  1. The card must be tapped at a MARTA station fare gate, MARTA bus reader or Breeze card vending machine within 25 days of the month or the card will become inactive. The card must be reset by MARTA for it to become active again.
  2. The card will not work if you double tap it at the station fare gate. This confuses the system and renders the card unable to activate the fare gate doors.
  3. Breeze cards purchased through the discounted MARTA pass program can not be loaded with cash value. This causes issues with the system.
  4. Do not bend, scratch or punch holes in your Breeze card.
  5. If you happen to experience problems using your Breeze card, you can check your card balance at any Breeze vending machine to ensure that your card is active. You can ask the station agent or bus operator for assistance.
  6. If you have an issue with your Breeze card, report it to your company program administrator.
  7. If your card is lost or stolen, report it to your company program administrator as soon as possible. You must follow your company’s internal process and timeline for receiving a replacement.
