Committees and Councils
These councils and committees are helping us create a culture of sustainability in Buckhead by meeting regularly to share ideas and best practices, then implementing innovative programs within their own organizations.
Sustainability Committee
Livable Buckhead and more than 30 leaders have collaborated to strengthen community resilience in Buckhead, developing a hyperlocal course of action to enhance the neighborhood’s long-term vitality. This helps guide Livable Buckhead’s programs and sets achievable goals for the Buckhead community across key focus areas, including Mobility, Public Safety, Greenspace, Waste, Energy, Arts & Culture, Health & Wellness, and Water.
The committee is open to the public to serve on and reports to the Livable Buckhead Board of Directors. This committee meets on a quarterly basis.

Buckhead Events & Marketing Council
Livable Buckhead’s newest community council is dedicated to developing community-wide events and programming for Buckhead. The council is comprised of key representatives of the businesses and organizations that make up Buckhead, whose active involvement brings value not only to participating businesses but also to the council and community. This council is hosted monthly in-person.
The primary goals of the Buckhead Events and Marketing Council include:
- Developing Buckhead-wide events and programming through collaboration with community businesses and partners.
- Providing networking and business development opportunities for marketing professionals in Buckhead.
- Keeping members informed of the latest strategies and tools in multiple areas of marketing and events.
- Providing a platform to increase the impact of individual events and marketing through leveraged partnerships.

Commercial Property Managers’ Committee
Commercial properties in Buckhead play a huge role in shaping a more efficient and forward-thinking community. From energy and water usage to EV charging, transportation impact, and land use, Buckhead’s commercial properties are setting the standard in Atlanta. With millions of square feet of commercial space making strides in efficiency, local businesses have successfully reduced energy and water consumption while enhancing the area’s overall resilience and quality of life.
The committee is open to the Buckhead commercial property management team members to serve on and reports to the Livable Buckhead Board of Directors. This committee meets every other month and includes networking.

Human Resources Council
Livable Buckhead’s Human Resources Council gathers Buckhead’s leading HR executives to share knowledge, hear from captivating speakers and gain insights for facing their most pressing professional challenges. Formerly known as our Employer Council, we shifted the council to address Buckhead employers’ human resources needs, providing valuable resources to create successful hybrid workplaces, increase employee engagement and more.
This council meets quarterly and entails expert speakers and panels, networking opportunities, and community impact updates. It is open to all HR executives based in Buckhead or who have a close connection to the community.

Security Council
Public safety and security are top of mind in Buckhead. A safe community creates a sustainable community. Commercial properties account for much of Buckhead’s commercial core, and have an important role to play in public safety. The purpose of this committee is to help facilitate conversations across properties and improve communication between security personnel. Meetings include updates from Atlanta Police Zone 2 and other law enforcement agencies, as well as discussions about challenges individual properties may be experiencing.
The council is open to commercial property security personnel to serve on and meets every other month.
