SUMMARY:PATH400 Hard Hat Construction Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we discover the newest phase of PATH400 \nNow that there is some cool stuff to see on the construction of the newest phase of PATH400 (Wieuca Road to Loridans Drive )\, it’s time for construction tours to get your own first hand sneak peek! Join us as Livable Buckhead’s executive director\, Denise Starling\, gives you a personal\, behind-the-scenes tour of how this multi-purpose greenway is being created. \nThis is an active construction site\, so you are required to wear closed toe shoes (preferably boots)\, preferably long pants\, a hard hat (to be provided)\, be physically able to do some climbing\, and sign a waiver before the tour begins. The first tour is August 25th at 10am. Space is limited to 25 people. \nAbout PATH400: PATH400 is a 5.2-mile walkable\, bikeable greenway being constructed on public land adjacent to GA 400 extending from the bank of Peachtree Creek northward toward the northern edge of Atlanta. It is the centerpiece of a broader greenspace plan\, the Buckhead Collection\, initiated by Atlanta Councilman Howard Shook. Livable Buckhead is spearheading the PATH400 project in partnership with the Buckhead Community Improvement District (Buckhead CID) and the PATH Foundation. Several other agencies and organizations are involved in the development of PATH400\, including Georgia Department of Transportation\, the City of Atlanta\, MARTA\, Atlanta Neighborhood Planning Unit B\, and Atlanta Public Schools. PATH400 will increase access to community amenities such as arts\, historic\, and cultural exhibits; neighborhood pocket parks and greenspaces; retail centers; and learning centers. For more information about PATH400\, visit path400greenway.com. \n \nWhat to expect: a tour from a previous section in 2017

SUMMARY:Georgia Natural Gas® and Lenox Square Host Annual Earth Day Electronics Recycling Event
DESCRIPTION:Georgia residents and businesses have a convenient and responsible way to recycle their unwanted electronics this coming Earth Day. Georgia Natural Gas (GNG)\, Georgia’s leading natural gas provider\, is partnering with Lenox Square and eWaste ePlanet\, an R2.v3 certified electronics recycling and data destruction provider\, to host an electronic recycling event in the dining pavilion parking lot at Lenox Square Saturday\, April 22 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. \nResidents can drop off unwanted electronics – including cell phones\, computers\, monitors\, printers\, televisions\, radios and machines – for eWaste ePlanet to recycle responsibly. Event sponsors are hoping to recycle 20\,000 pounds of consumer electronics this year. The event will also include giveaways and the chance to register to win a $500 Simon gift card. \n“We invite our neighbors to celebrate Earth Day with us at Lenox Square. Being centrally located\, we are in the ideal location to host a recycling event\,” said Robin Suggs\, general manager at Lenox Square. “With this year’s event being held on a Saturday\, we thought it appropriate to raise our goal and do a little bit more to help our community and the planet.” \n“GNG believes in helping our customers build a sustainable future. Last year’s Earth Day recycling event was so successful\, we collected 15\,000 pounds of electronics previously destined for a landfill. That was a record. This year\, we’re encouraging the Atlanta community\, including residential neighbors and metro area businesses and schools\, to help us to collect 20\,000 pounds\,” says Maurice Baker\, manager of community relations at GNG.

SUMMARY:Development Review Committee Meeting (DRC) - SPI-9
DESCRIPTION:DRC meetings are open to the public and take place on the first Wednesday of each month via Zoom.  The SPI-9 DRC meeting begins at 1:00pm. \nAbout SPI-9: \nBuckhead Community Improvement District partnered with the City of Atlanta\, sister organization BATMA (organization preceding Livable Buckhead)\, and local resident neighbors through Neighborhood Planning Unit B to develop a new zoning ordinance that covers a significant part of the Buckhead commercial area. \nThe zoning\, adopted by Atlanta City Council on October 4\, 2010\, sets the stage for a more walkable\, urban community enriched with public art and parks\, wide sidewalks\, greenspace\, transportation options\, and outdoor dining\, all designed to have international appeal. \n***This DRC meets only when it has projects before it***
