DESCRIPTION:buckheadRUN!\, Livable Buckhead’s sixth annual 5K\, returns on Saturday\, May 4. Once again\, this year’s race is part of Buckhead Village District’s Bodacious Blooms festival\, a four-day celebration of spring featuring larger-than-life floral installations and community-wide events. \nLivable Buckhead is encouraging runners of all ages and abilities to join the fun and to bring their four-legged friends with them. In addition to awards for the fastest runners in various age groups\, buckheadRUN! includes a “Fastest Fido” category\, bandana giveaways for dogs\, a pre-race hype event and post-race celebration. Runners are also encouraged to celebrate spring by dressing in flower-themed costumes and garb. Livable Buckhead will award prizes for the best flower costumes. \nThis year’s field of runners will follow a new USA Track and Field-certified course that begins at Lenox Square\, follows PATH400 to Miami Circle then takes Piedmont Rd. and East Paces Ferry Rd. to Buckhead Village. buckheadRUN! is a 2025 Peachtree Road Race qualifier. \nbuckheadRUN! registration is $35 for adults and $15 for children. Registration increases to $45 for adults and $25 for children after April 12. Awards will be given to the top male and female in eight divisions\, and all registered runners will receive a commemorative t-shirt following the race. The “Fastest Fido” award will go to the fastest dog in the race.

DESCRIPTION:Special Public Interest District 12 covers the commercial core of the Buckhead Community surrounding the two malls and the major high rise office developments.  This zoning overlay district was one of the first ever written in the City and one of the last to be incorporated into the underlying zoning. In 2011\, the Buckhead Community Improvement District and sister organization\, BATMA (organization preceding Livable Buckhead)\, began updating this district to incorporate public art\, transportation options\, connectivity and greenspace among other changes\, with all changes having been completed in Summer of 2012. \n\n\n\n\nDRC meetings are open to the public and take place on the first Wednesday of each month via Zoom.  The SPI-12 DRC meeting begins at 3:00pm.

Join us as Livable Buckhead’s executive director\, Denise Starling\, gives you a personal\, behind-the-scenes tour of how this multi-purpose greenway is being created. \nThis is an active construction site\, so you are required to wear closed toe shoes (preferably boots)\, preferably long pants\, a hard hat (to be provided)\, be physically able to do some climbing\, and sign a waiver before the tour begins. Space is limited to 20 people. \nAbout PATH400: PATH400 is a 5.2-mile walkable\, bikeable greenway being constructed on public land adjacent to GA 400 extending from the bank of Peachtree Creek northward toward the northern edge of Atlanta. It is the centerpiece of a broader greenspace plan\, the Buckhead Collection\, initiated by Atlanta Councilman Howard Shook. Livable Buckhead is spearheading the PATH400 project in partnership with the Buckhead Community Improvement District (Buckhead CID) and the PATH Foundation. Several other agencies and organizations are involved in the development of PATH400\, including Georgia Department of Transportation\, the City of Atlanta\, MARTA\, Atlanta Neighborhood Planning Unit B\, and Atlanta Public Schools. PATH400 will increase access to community amenities such as arts\, historic\, and cultural exhibits; neighborhood pocket parks and greenspaces; retail centers; and learning centers. The mixed-use building is the first mass timber building in Georgia to utilize Georgia-grown timber and a regional supply chain\, redefining sustainable construction in the Southeast. This will be a great opportunity to pick up our discussions about embodied carbon and get a first-hand account of what it takes to deliver a project with stringent low-carbon goals. \nThe Sustainability Committee helps guide Livable Buckhead’s sustainability programs and sets achievable goals for the Buckhead community from our program areas which include: Mobility\, Public Safety\, Greenspace\, Waste\, Energy\, Arts & Culture\, Health & Wellness\, Water\, and Culture of Sustainability. The committee is open to the public to serve on and reports to the Livable Buckhead Board of Directors. This committee meets on a quarterly basis.

In 2011\, the Buckhead Community Improvement District and sister organization\, BATMA (organization preceding Livable Buckhead)\, began updating this district to incorporate public art\, transportation options\, connectivity and greenspace among other changes\, with all changes having been completed in Summer of 2012. \n\n\n\n\nDRC meetings are open to the public and take place on the first Wednesday of each month via Zoom.  The SPI-12 DRC meeting begins at 3:00pm.

SUMMARY:PATH400 Hard Hat Construction Tour
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we discover the newest phase of PATH400 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation \n\n\n684 Mountain Drive Northeast Atlanta\, GA 30342 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event \n\n\n\n\nNow that there is some cool stuff to see on the construction of the newest phase of PATH400 (Wieuca Road to Loridans Drive )\, it’s time for construction tours to get your own first hand sneak peek! Join us as Livable Buckhead’s executive director\, Denise Starling\, gives you a personal\, behind-the-scenes tour of how this multi-purpose greenway is being created. \nThis is an active construction site\, so you are required to wear closed toe shoes (preferably boots)\, preferably long pants\, a hard hat (to be provided)\, be physically able to do some climbing\, and sign a waiver before the tour begins. Space is limited to 20 people. \nAbout PATH400: PATH400 is a 5.2-mile walkable\, bikeable greenway being constructed on public land adjacent to GA 400 extending from the bank of Peachtree Creek northward toward the northern edge of Atlanta. It is the centerpiece of a broader greenspace plan\, the Buckhead Collection\, initiated by Atlanta Councilman Howard Shook. Livable Buckhead is spearheading the PATH400 project in partnership with the Buckhead Community Improvement District (Buckhead CID) and the PATH Foundation. Several other agencies and organizations are involved in the development of PATH400\, including Georgia Department of Transportation\, the City of Atlanta\, MARTA\, Atlanta Neighborhood Planning Unit B\, and Atlanta Public Schools. PATH400 will increase access to community amenities such as arts\, historic\, and cultural exhibits; neighborhood pocket parks and greenspaces; retail centers; and learning centers. DESCRIPTION:Livable Buckhead and the Buckhead community has created the best running club in the city. This run club is open to all levels. Run\, walk or even cartwheel – we just want to see you out on PATH400! The Buckhead Run + Walk Club is a great opportunity to get into a weekly running routine or simply enjoy the safety of a group run\, join us every Tuesday at 6:00pm at Citizens Market/Phipps Plaza (3500 Peachtree Road NE Atlanta GA 30326) for this weekly run. \nGuidelines: \n\nMeet outside at Citizens Market in Phipps Plaza.\nWaters will be available as needed.\nALL paces welcome – runners & walkers.\nRoutes will be available for 2 or 3 mile workouts.\n\nThis is meant to be a fun\, enjoyable\, relaxing\, safe experience and to help make us all feel part of a run family again. \n\n\n\n\nPlease fill out the following release form to participate in the Buckhead Run + Walk Club.
