SUMMARY:North Buckhead Bee Arrival Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Honeybees are coming to North Buckhead! \nJoin us on Saturday\, May 8th to celebrate the introduction of our bee hives and their queen bee at 684 Mountain Drive. \nThe festivities will begin at 1 pm\, and will include a parade for children to walk in their most festive bee-inspired wear. The parade will start at 684 Mountain Drive\, circle through Mountain Way Common\, then come down Mountain Way to end at 684 Mountain Drive. \nNot able to arrive in a costume? No problem! We want all who are willing and excited to participate — babies in baby strollers included! \nThere will also be food & drinks\, arts & crafts\, and interactive\, educational activities for the kids to enjoy. \nThe honeybees will be safe and comfortable in their hives away from the crowd. There is no entrance fee for this event. \nThis event is the culmination of our work this past year to create a bee habitat at 684 Mountain Drive. Livable Buckhead has partnered with Doc’s Healing Hives and Buckhead Rotary Club to further develop this local Buckhead community park. It will soon serve as an amenity to PATH400\, and the bee habitat — which includes bee hives and a pollinator garden — will serve as an educational opportunity to showcase how vital bees are to our ecosystem. \nPlease follow CDC guidelines on COVID-19 precautions\, including maintaining a safe distance from others during this event. \nPlease contact Michelle@livablebuckhead.org with any questions about this event.

SUMMARY:The Buckhead Business Association presents their "2nd Cup" Webinar Series featuring Jamie Adams
DESCRIPTION:About Jamie Adams\, Chef – il Giallo Osteria & BarAfter years of being enamored by virtually every aspect of Italian culture\, Jamie Adams spent nearly five years honing his craft at some of the finest restaurants in Italy. While there\, he learned from many highly acclaimed chefs (as well as Italian Grandmothers!) not only the nuts and bolts of the cooking\, but more importantly about the culture\, the people and the traditions behind the flavors.\nUpon returning to Atlanta\, Chef Adams began his twenty-year relationship with the prestigious Buckhead Life Restaurant Group and Pano Karatassos\, first at Pricci\, then at Veni Vidi Vici. It was at these two restaurants\, that Adams achieved the reputation as one of Atlanta’s preeminent Italian Chefs.\nAdams has been a featured chef at The James Beard House in New York\, competed in The Food Network’s “Chopped\,” selected to participate in a TBS-TV “Super Chef Cook Off”\, and was highlighted on “Great Chefs of the South”\, and “The Best Thing I Ever Ate.”\nIn 2000 at the age of 41\, Adams became\, as he refers to it\, “the lucky recipient of 4 Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts (CABG)\, fondly referred to as “Cabbage” aka\, quadruple bypass. Faced with such a life altering (or ending…) event\, Adams paid attention to the “wake-up” call and began a new life of healthy diet and exercise\, primarily in the form of road cycling. It also rekindled in him the desire for a new platform to express his many influences\, from the beautifully hand crafted pastas learned in Piemonte and Emilia-Romanga\, to the wonderful variety of the Italian coast from Venice to Genoa.\nIn addition to building a loyal following and maintaining his great health\, Chef Adams is exceptionally proud of his fundraising efforts for many organizations that are important to him\, including Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry and Moving in the Spirit\, among others. \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER!  \n\nBBA’s “2nd Cup” Webinar Series take place on Thursday mornings from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. using the online platform Zoom\, and features thought leaders and influencer from all over the country.
