It is also used as a way for the citizens to receive information concerning all functions of City government. She will provide us with an overview of what embodied carbon is\, the importance of mitigating embodied carbon in our built environment\, Livable Buckhead’s work thus far on addressing this issue\, and our next steps and goals with this work. \nBefore the meeting\, feel free to read about embodied carbon here and the work Livable Buckhead has begun here. \nAbout Shauna Achey: Since joining TVS in 2001\, Shauna has developed a deep understanding of the industry\, with a vast portfolio spanning several international and domestic markets. As a registered architect holding a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in architecture and urban design as well as a certificate in city planning from Georgia Tech\, Shauna has led many noteworthy projects during her over 20+ year tenure with the firm. \nCurrently serving as Senior Director of the Lifestyle Sector\, Shauna leans on her deep well of academic and practice experience to lead strategic initiatives in the firm’s commercial development markets\, which includes hospitality\, corporate office\, multifamily residential\, retail and mixed-use development. DESCRIPTION:Uptown Atlanta\, the 47-acre mixed-use destination surrounding the Lindbergh MARTA station\, today announces the official summer lineup for Movies on The Lawn. As a part of Uptown’s Signature Events Series\, Movies on The Lawn will include free outdoor movie screenings with themed food and beverage selections from Uptown Test Kitchen’s Chow À La Carte chefs\, as well as a variety of crafts\, giveaways\, unique performances and more. \nMovies on The Lawn presents Jaws: In celebration of National Shark Awareness Day\, Uptown will host a special screening of the classic thriller Jaws on Saturday\, July 15. All event attendees will have a chance to win tickets to SHARKS! Predators of the Deep at the Georgia Aquarium where they can learn more about these fascinating creatures. The Chow À La Carte chefs will be popping up on The Lawn and serving shark-themed nibbles and more. Pre-movie activities will begin at 6 p.m. with the movie starting at 8 p.m. \nMovies on The Lawn is free and open to the public\, but registration is encouraged via Eventbrite. Costs for food\, beverage and vendor goods will vary. Event attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs. It is also used as a way for the citizens to receive information concerning all functions of City government. The system enables the citizens to express ideas and comment on City plans and proposals while assisting the City in developing plans which best meet the needs of different areas. \nMembership is open to anyone 18 years or older whose primary residence is within the NPU\, as well as to any corporation\, organization\, institution\, or agency which owns property or has a place of business within the NPU. \nThe NPU has 3 different committees\, zoning\, development & transportation\, and public safety\, which make recommendations to the City Council for review. \nNPU-B is one of 25 Neighborhood Planning Units established by the city of Atlanta to: \n\nAllow citizen input on community issues involving zoning\, development infrastructure\, crime\, and delivery of city services;\nDistribute information and facilitate communication between citizens\, their representatives and various city departments;\nMake recommendations on Variance Applications to the Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) for final decision;\nMake recommendations on Zoning Applications and Special Use Applications to the Zoning Review Board (ZRB) which sends their recommendations to City Council for final decision;\nMake recommendations on Subdivision Applications to the Subdivision Review Committee\, Office of Planning; and\nMake recommendations to the Office of Planning and City Council on Applications that would change the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP).\n\nAtlanta citizens living or working in NPU-B are eligible to serve on the Board of Representatives.
