The Company was founded by Stephanie’s grandfather\, W.S. Stuckey\, Sr. as a pecan stand in Eastman\, Georgia in 1937 and grew into over 350 stores by the 1970’s. The company was sold in 1964 but is now back in family hands and poised for a comeback.\nBilly Stuckey\, son of the founder and former U.S. Congressman\, reacquired Stuckey’s in 1985. Stephanie took over in November of 2019 and\, under her leadership\, Stuckey’s has purchased a healthy pecan snack company\, undergone a rebranding\, added three new franchised stores\, expanded its B2B retail customer base\, increased online sales 550% with a new website and will soon acquire a pecan processing and candy manufacturing plant.\nStephanie received both her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Georgia. She has worked as a trial lawyer\, elected to seven terms as a state representative\, ran an environmental nonprofit law firm that settled the largest Clean Water Act case in Georgia history\, served as Director of Sustainability and Resilience for the City of Atlanta\, and taught as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Georgia School of Law. Stephanie’s achievements include being named one of the 100 Most Influential Georgians by Georgia Trend Magazine and a graduate of Leadership Atlanta. Hall\, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s youngest lieutenant. An alumnus of Benjamin E. Mays High School in Atlanta\, husband\, and father of two\, Hall has dedicated his life to be a public servant for those who call Atlanta home. For 15 years\, Hall served as an elected official on Atlanta City Council and on the Atlanta School Board. He represented the city’s most socially and economically diverse council district. As Councilman for District 2\, Hall has been recognized for leadership in many areas\, including economic inclusion\, workforce development\, urban design\, and arts and culture. In 2013\, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation recognized his initiative to expand opportunities to families in an Atlanta neighborhood with the highest concentration of poverty in the southeastern United States. Prior to his election to the Atlanta City Council\, Hall served on the Atlanta Board of Education. Hall is the immediate past chair of the Atlanta City Council’s International Relations Committee. He has been a fellow of the German Marshall Fund and a number of U.S. State Department programs. Hall served on the World Affairs Council\, Leadership Atlanta\, and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. \nPreviously\, Hall worked as Vice President of Technology for GoodWorks International LLC\, a public affairs consulting firm co-chaired by Ambassador Andrew Young. He also worked as Director of Business Development for MACTEC Engineering and Consulting\, Inc. Kwanza was appointed as a Senior Fellow of the Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils. In addition to discussing the book Nine Days: The Race to Save Martin Luther King\, Jr.’s Life and Win The 1960 Election\, panelists will be discussing personal recollections of the Atlanta Student Movement\, time with leader Lonnie King and Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King\, Jr.\, and the reverberations of the Civil Rights Movement today. DESCRIPTION:Come join us on PATH400 for a fun morning outdoors tending to our trees. We have a family of beavers who’ve made their home in the detention pond along PATH400\, just south of the Peachtree Drive entrance. They’re doing what they do best and chopping down our newly planted trees for food and building materials. In order to steer the beavers away from our newly planted\, smaller trees along the trail\, we’ll be wrapping a number of trees with wire. Spots are limited\, so advance ticket purchases are encouraged. Tickets range from $25 to $40 for vehicles ($5 discount for Livable Buckhead members and electric vehicles)\, and there will be front row seats reserved for those who bike or walk ($10 per person).\n\nLove Actually is a 2003 Christmas-themed romantic comedy film written and directed by Richard Curtis. It features an ensemble cast\, composed predominantly of British actors\, many of whom had worked with Curtis in previous film and television projects. Mostly filmed on location in London\, the screenplay delves into different aspects of love as shown through ten separate stories involving a wide variety of individuals\, many of whom are shown to be interlinked as the tales progress. The story begins five weeks before Christmas and is played out in a weekly countdown until the holiday\, followed by an epilogue that takes place one month later.
