This rewarding event combines fun\, connection\, and purpose\, offering a chance to protect the environment and honor a community legacy. \nEvent Details \n\nDate: Sat\, March 7\, 2026\nTime: 9:30 – 11:30 AM\nLocation: Peachtree Park Neighborhood Entrance to PATH400 (3399 Peachtree Dr NE\, Atlanta\, GA 30305)\n\nWhen you volunteer\, you’re more than just lending a hand—you’re creating a ripple effect of positive change. Your time and effort directly benefit the community and environment by: \n\nProtecting Natural Habitats: Removing debris keeps our waterways clean\, supporting native wildlife and ecosystems.\nBuilding Community Pride: Working together strengthens bonds with neighbors and fosters a sense of collective responsibility.\nPromoting Sustainability: Small actions\, like clearing litter\, add up to a healthier planet for future generations.\n\nIn the past\, volunteers have collected hundreds of pounds of trash from this sensitive detention pond area. Your participation ensures continued progress toward a greener\, cleaner Buckhead. We’ll be removing trash from the pond and clearing the surrounding area to create a healthier environment. No prior experience is necessary—just come ready to make a difference! \nWhat to Bring: \n\nClothing: Wear clothes that can get dirty and closed-toed shoes. Waders will be provided for those entering the pond.\nWater Bottle: Stay hydrated with your reusable water bottle.\nOptional Kayak: If you’re an experienced kayaker\, bring your equipment to help clean trash from the pond’s interior. Let us know in advance to coordinate!\n\nFree parking is available along neighborhood streets near PATH400. Please avoid blocking driveways. The Lenox MARTA station is a short walk from the event site for those using public transit. \nMaxine Rock dedicated her life to environmental advocacy and community improvement.
