The link will remain open for the General Board Meeting (First Tuesday of month) that begins at 7:00 pm.\n\nRegister in advance for this meeting.\n\nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. \nABOUT NPU-B \nNeighborhood Planning Units (NPUs) are citizen advisory councils that make recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on zoning\, land-use\, licensing\, and other planning issues. \nThe NPU system was established in 1974 by Mayor Maynard Jackson to provide an opportunity for citizens to participate actively in the Comprehensive Development Plan\, which is the City’s vision for the next 5\, 10\, and 15 years. It is also used as a way for the citizens to receive information concerning all functions of City government. The system enables the citizens to express ideas and comment on City plans and proposals while assisting the City in developing plans which best meet the needs of different areas. \nMembership is open to anyone 18 years or older whose primary residence is within the NPU\, as well as to any corporation\, organization\, institution\, or agency which owns property or has a place of business within the NPU. \nThe NPU has 3 different committees\, zoning\, development & transportation\, and public safety\, which make recommendations to the City Council for review. \nNPU-B\nNPU-B is one of 25 Neighborhood Planning Units established by the city of Atlanta to: \n\nAllow citizen input on community issues involving zoning\, development infrastructure\, crime\, and delivery of city services;\nDistribute information and facilitate communication between citizens\, their representatives and various city departments;\nMake recommendations on Variance Applications to the Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) for final decision;\nMake recommendations on Zoning Applications and Special Use Applications to the Zoning Review Board (ZRB) which sends their recommendations to City Council for final decision;\nMake recommendations on Subdivision Applications to the Subdivision Review Committee\, Office of Planning; and\nMake recommendations to the Office of Planning and City Council on Applications that would change the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP).\n\nAtlanta citizens living or working in NPU-B are eligible to serve on the Board of Representatives. Indicate your interest in the viability and stability of our business and neighborhood communities. With one end of Main Street anchored by the band\, the guests can also enjoy seating and special experiences along the way\, including bites and sips from Uptown’s globally inspired restaurants\, El Gordo\, Bene Korean\, J’ouvert Caribbean Kitchen\, 26 Thai Kitchen and Bar and Chow À La Carte at Uptown Test Kitchen. House music will start playing on property at 5 p.m. to get the energy going and welcome Uptown’s office tenants to Main Street. \nOn October 3\, experience Masks & Music on Main\, where attendees can make their own festive masks in celebration of the upcoming Hambidge Art Auction and Masquerade being hosted on October 26 at Uptown. This special mask-making musical event will also align with Skillshot Media’s Creator Summit\, drawing hundreds of content creators and influencers to the mixed-use community. \nAll Music on Main events are open to the public and free to attend. Rubenstein recently opened the first three new additions to Uptown’s globally inspired dining district\, including J’ouvert Caribbean Kitchen\, a Caribbean brunch concept; El Gordo\, an authentic taqueria; and Bene Korean\, an upscale Korean barbecue. Also expected to open in the coming months at Uptown is White Windmill\, a popular Korean bakery\, and Madre Selva\, a new Latin coastal concept. The new restaurants and retail join 26 Thai Kitchen and Bar and Chow À La Carte at Uptown Test Kitchen\, a novel culinary experience designed to bring the community and local chefs from around the world together. \nRoundhouse Kickboxing\, an Atlanta-based fitness studio\, recently opened its latest location at Uptown and is offering dozens of weekly workout classes.
