SUMMARY:Come Play In The Dirt
DESCRIPTION:Take home a native plant for your yard\, patio or balcony. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDate and time : Sunday\, April 14 · 4 – 6pm EDT\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLocation: 684 Mountain Drive Northeast Atlanta\, GA 30342 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe encourage you and your children to begin a new learning adventure by gardening together. \nWhether you live in an apartment\, condo\, or house\, you can still enjoy gardening with your children. You can have potted plants\, dish gardens\, hanging baskets\, or plants in the ground. They can be flowering plants\, herbs\, fruits\, or vegetables. Start small\, and don’t get overwhelmed. Now is a great time to start planning and planting seedlings. \nOn April 14\, from 4 – 6pm\, North Buckhead Civic Association’s Beautiful North Buckhead Committee invites you and your kids to this FREE event where there will be opportunities to learn about the importance of native plants while engaging all the senses. This event is open to ALL AGES\, with activities suitable for children. After the event\, everyone will leave with a free native plant suitable for planting in a yard\, patio\, or balcony. \nGardening helps children learn responsibility\, while instilling a sense of self-confidence and creates an opportunity to learn about pollution\, pesticides\, and recycling. Gardening promotes well-rounded development in children. Whether in pots on an apartment balcony\, a community garden\, or right out the back door\, children who engage with a garden are harvesting a lot more than food and flowers. Gardening makes the best use of all your child’s senses and has the potential to help your child become a humble\, caring\, and responsible human being.

SUMMARY:Patagonia: Pints for the Planet
DESCRIPTION:Patagonia Buckhead \n34 East Andrews Drive Northwest\, Atlanta\, Georgia 30305 \nSaturday\, June 15\n2:00PM EDT \nWhat’s better than ice cream on a hot afternoon? Supporting a local nonprofit! \nJoin Patagonia for an ice cream social Saturday\, June 15th at Patagonia Buckhead. All proceeds will be collected as donations for our local nonprofit friends from Georgia River Network. Pints of brews will also be available for those of age. So\, bring the kiddos by for an afternoon of Patagonia fun featuring coloring activities\, freebies\, and a chance to win some sweet new gear. Get ready to learn more about the amazing work our local community is doing for our planet! \n* While ice cream supplies last! * \n \nEvent Partners \nGeorgia River Network: Since 1998\, Georgia River Network has worked to protect and connect people with Georgia’s rivers. Georgia River Network envisions Georgia rivers that are healthy and beloved: \n\nGeorgia rivers are safe to swim\, fish and recreate.\nGeorgia rivers are accessible for all to enjoy.\nGeorgia rivers add beauty and value to communities.\nGeorgia rivers meet the needs of the natural systems they support.\nGeorgia rivers support economic development.\nGeorgia rivers provide a clean water legacy for all.\n\nJeni’s Ice Cream: Jeni’s is a fellow B-Corp! They make ice cream to bring people together. It’s their reason for being and they operate as a community—in partnership with the growers\, makers\, and producers who supply us with ingredients. Using Direct Trade ingredients\, employing a diverse team of people\, working to improve their environmental and social impact—it’s all part of how they operate and an important part of the Jeni’s company culture. \nSteady Hand Brewing: Though our name is rooted in an age-old Gaelic family motto of “Steady Hand to Victory”\, our sprawling brewery on Atlanta’s Westside offers 24 taps and welcomes one and all. \nOlipop: Another fellow B-Corp\, Olipop helps satisfy sweet carbonate cravings without compromising health. For over a decade\, Ben and David have shared a vision of a healthier\, tastier future. Their quest for a product that could undermine the old guard of soda behemoths led them to OLIPOP: a thoughtfully crafted tonic that found its taste in wholesome\, hardworking ingredients instead of spoonfuls of sugar.

Please click the RSVP button  to sign up. \n \nThe Orianne Society: Reptile and Amphibian Conservation Organization \nThe Orianne Society works to conserve imperiled reptiles and amphibians using science\, applied conservation and education. \nReptiles and amphibians have an incredible value. They are an integral part of our ecosystems\, playing their part in keeping these systems functioning. Their physiology holds many clues to important medical advances. Their mystique has played important roles in our arts and culture. Reptiles and amphibians are key players in the world we live in. \nIn a world of diminishing habitats\, they suffer from the same effects of environmental degradation as other animals\, but with the added burden of being targets – targets of persecution\, of antipathy. They don’t get the same attention as cuter animals we are asked to save\, yet healthy ecosystems depend on these animals too. Reptiles and amphibians are often the bellwethers of habitat health. To see these species in the wild is to see a healthy\, functioning landscape.

DESCRIPTION:This fall\, live music and globally inspired tastes are taking over Main Street at Uptown Atlanta\, the 47-acre mixed-use destination anchored by the Lindbergh MARTA station. Music on Main will be hosted on Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. in September and October. \nTo bring Music on Main to life\, a section of Main Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic\, making it a pedestrian friendly event. This special mask-making musical event will also align with Skillshot Media’s Creator Summit\, drawing hundreds of content creators and influencers to the mixed-use community. \nAll Music on Main events are open to the public and free to attend. Cost of food and beverage will vary. Paid parking is located in Uptown’s City Center deck. The event schedule and confirmed artists is below. \n\n\nSeptember 5: Sailing to Denver \n\n\nSeptember 12: G Clef and the Playlist \n\n\nSeptember 19: Chuck Martin Duo \n\n\nSeptember 26: Rosey and Hill \n\n\nOctober 3: Leah Belle Faser \n\n\nOctober 10: The Highbeams \n\n\nOctober 17: Risky Biscuit Duo \n\n\nOctober 24: Sami Automatic \n\n\nOctober 31: Black Lion Reggae \n\n\n\n“We have always envisioned activating Main Street with new experiences for the community\, and Music on Main. is the perfect way to celebrate the project’s latest milestones and restaurant openings\,” said Mahesh Mani\, senior vice president of asset management for Rubenstein. \nUptown encompasses nearly one million square feet of office space\, 120\,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space and a variety of community gathering spaces. Rubenstein recently opened the first three new additions to Uptown’s globally inspired dining district\, including J’ouvert Caribbean Kitchen\, a Caribbean brunch concept; El Gordo\, an authentic taqueria; and Bene Korean\, an upscale Korean barbecue. Also expected to open in the coming months at Uptown is White Windmill\, a popular Korean bakery\, and Madre Selva\, a new Latin coastal concept. The new restaurants and retail join 26 Thai Kitchen and Bar and Chow À La Carte at Uptown Test Kitchen\, a novel culinary experience designed to bring the community and local chefs from around the world together. \nRoundhouse Kickboxing\, an Atlanta-based fitness studio\, recently opened its latest location at Uptown and is offering dozens of weekly workout classes. Later this year\, Uptown will open \nThe Commodore\, a retro barber shop that brings a fresh approach to timeless barbering. \nAs a transit-oriented community\, Uptown features connectivity to the city’s major pedestrian trails\, such as the Atlanta BeltLine\, PATH400 and the South Fork Trail. As part of the redevelopment plan\, Rubenstein modernized the 35\,000-square-foot office atrium; elevated building facades; created a true\, pedestrian-friendly Main Street; debuted Hambidge Center’s Cross Pollination Art Lab; and transformed The Lawn into a highly programmed community gathering space.
