It is also used as a way for the citizens to receive information concerning all functions of City government. DESCRIPTION:Uptown Atlanta\, the 47-acre mixed-use destination surrounding the Lindbergh MARTA station\, today announces the official summer lineup for Movies on The Lawn. As a part of Uptown’s Signature Events Series\, Movies on The Lawn will include free outdoor movie screenings with themed food and beverage selections from Uptown Test Kitchen’s Chow À La Carte chefs\, as well as a variety of crafts\, giveaways\, unique performances and more. \nMovies on The Lawn presents Jurassic World: Movies on The Lawn kicks off on Saturday\, June 3\, with a special screening of Jurassic World. In celebration of National Dinosaur Day and the 35th anniversary of the Jurassic Park franchise\, the event will feature music\, dancing dinosaur appearances and a chance to win tickets to the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. The Chow À La Carte chefs will be popping up on The Lawn and serving themed cuisine\, including dino bites\, pterodactyl wings and more. Pre-movie activities will begin at 6 p.m. with the movie starting at 8 p.m. \nMovies on The Lawn is free and open to the public\, but registration is encouraged via Eventbrite. Costs for food\, beverage and vendor goods will vary. Event attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs. As a part of Uptown’s Signature Events Series\, Movies on The Lawn will include free outdoor movie screenings with themed food and beverage selections from Uptown Test Kitchen’s Chow À La Carte chefs\, as well as a variety of crafts\, giveaways\, unique performances and more. \nMovies on The Lawn presents Jaws: In celebration of National Shark Awareness Day\, Uptown will host a special screening of the classic thriller Jaws on Saturday\, July 15. All event attendees will have a chance to win tickets to SHARKS! Predators of the Deep at the Georgia Aquarium where they can learn more about these fascinating creatures. The Chow À La Carte chefs will be popping up on The Lawn and serving shark-themed nibbles and more. Pre-movie activities will begin at 6 p.m. with the movie starting at 8 p.m. \nMovies on The Lawn is free and open to the public\, but registration is encouraged via Eventbrite. DESCRIPTION:When: First Tuesday of month\, 6:00 PM Eastern Time\n\n\nThe ‘Zoom Room’ will open at 6:00 pm for those who wish to enter early and get materials set up.  The Public Safety Meeting will begin at 6:30 pm. The link will remain open for the General Board Meeting (First Tuesday of month) that begins at 7:00 pm.\n\nRegister in advance for this meeting.\n\nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. \nABOUT NPU-B \nNeighborhood Planning Units (NPUs) are citizen advisory councils that make recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on zoning\, land-use\, licensing\, and other planning issues. \nThe NPU system was established in 1974 by Mayor Maynard Jackson to provide an opportunity for citizens to participate actively in the Comprehensive Development Plan\, which is the City’s vision for the next 5\, 10\, and 15 years. It is also used as a way for the citizens to receive information concerning all functions of City government. The system enables the citizens to express ideas and comment on City plans and proposals while assisting the City in developing plans which best meet the needs of different areas. \nMembership is open to anyone 18 years or older whose primary residence is within the NPU\, as well as to any corporation\, organization\, institution\, or agency which owns property or has a place of business within the NPU. \nThe NPU has 3 different committees\, zoning\, development & transportation\, and public safety\, which make recommendations to the City Council for review. \nNPU-B\nNPU-B is one of 25 Neighborhood Planning Units established by the city of Atlanta to: \n\nAllow citizen input on community issues involving zoning\, development infrastructure\, crime\, and delivery of city services;\nDistribute information and facilitate communication between citizens\, their representatives and various city departments;\nMake recommendations on Variance Applications to the Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) for final decision;\nMake recommendations on Zoning Applications and Special Use Applications to the Zoning Review Board (ZRB) which sends their recommendations to City Council for final decision;\nMake recommendations on Subdivision Applications to the Subdivision Review Committee\, Office of Planning; and\nMake recommendations to the Office of Planning and City Council on Applications that would change the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP).\n\nAtlanta citizens living or working in NPU-B are eligible to serve on the Board of Representatives. Indicate your interest in the viability and stability of our business and neighborhood communities.
