The link will remain open for the General Board Meeting (First Tuesday of month) that begins at 7:00 pm.\n\nRegister in advance for this meeting.\n\nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. \nABOUT NPU-B \nNeighborhood Planning Units (NPUs) are citizen advisory councils that make recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on zoning\, land-use\, licensing\, and other planning issues. \nThe NPU system was established in 1974 by Mayor Maynard Jackson to provide an opportunity for citizens to participate actively in the Comprehensive Development Plan\, which is the City’s vision for the next 5\, 10\, and 15 years. It is also used as a way for the citizens to receive information concerning all functions of City government. The system enables the citizens to express ideas and comment on City plans and proposals while assisting the City in developing plans which best meet the needs of different areas. \nMembership is open to anyone 18 years or older whose primary residence is within the NPU\, as well as to any corporation\, organization\, institution\, or agency which owns property or has a place of business within the NPU. \nThe NPU has 3 different committees\, zoning\, development & transportation\, and public safety\, which make recommendations to the City Council for review. \nNPU-B\nNPU-B is one of 25 Neighborhood Planning Units established by the city of Atlanta to: \n\nAllow citizen input on community issues involving zoning\, development infrastructure\, crime\, and delivery of city services;\nDistribute information and facilitate communication between citizens\, their representatives and various city departments;\nMake recommendations on Variance Applications to the Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) for final decision;\nMake recommendations on Zoning Applications and Special Use Applications to the Zoning Review Board (ZRB) which sends their recommendations to City Council for final decision;\nMake recommendations on Subdivision Applications to the Subdivision Review Committee\, Office of Planning; and\nMake recommendations to the Office of Planning and City Council on Applications that would change the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP).\n\nAtlanta citizens living or working in NPU-B are eligible to serve on the Board of Representatives. Indicate your interest in the viability and stability of our business and neighborhood communities. DESCRIPTION:When: First Tuesday of month\, 6:00 PM Eastern Time\n\n\nThe ‘Zoom Room’ will open at 6:00 pm for those who wish to enter early and get materials set up.  The Public Safety Meeting will begin at 6:30 pm. The link will remain open for the General Board Meeting (First Tuesday of month) that begins at 7:00 pm.\n\nRegister in advance for this meeting.\n\nAfter registering\, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting. \nABOUT NPU-B \nNeighborhood Planning Units (NPUs) are citizen advisory councils that make recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on zoning\, land-use\, licensing\, and other planning issues. \nThe NPU system was established in 1974 by Mayor Maynard Jackson to provide an opportunity for citizens to participate actively in the Comprehensive Development Plan\, which is the City’s vision for the next 5\, 10\, and 15 years. It is also used as a way for the citizens to receive information concerning all functions of City government. The system enables the citizens to express ideas and comment on City plans and proposals while assisting the City in developing plans which best meet the needs of different areas. \nMembership is open to anyone 18 years or older whose primary residence is within the NPU\, as well as to any corporation\, organization\, institution\, or agency which owns property or has a place of business within the NPU. \nThe NPU has 3 different committees\, zoning\, development & transportation\, and public safety\, which make recommendations to the City Council for review. \nNPU-B\nNPU-B is one of 25 Neighborhood Planning Units established by the city of Atlanta to: \n\nAllow citizen input on community issues involving zoning\, development infrastructure\, crime\, and delivery of city services;\nDistribute information and facilitate communication between citizens\, their representatives and various city departments;\nMake recommendations on Variance Applications to the Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) for final decision;\nMake recommendations on Zoning Applications and Special Use Applications to the Zoning Review Board (ZRB) which sends their recommendations to City Council for final decision;\nMake recommendations on Subdivision Applications to the Subdivision Review Committee\, Office of Planning; and\nMake recommendations to the Office of Planning and City Council on Applications that would change the Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP).\n\nAtlanta citizens living or working in NPU-B are eligible to serve on the Board of Representatives. Indicate your interest in the viability and stability of our business and neighborhood communities. This rewarding event combines fun\, connection\, and purpose\, offering a chance to protect the environment and honor a community legacy. \nEvent Details \n\nDate: Sat\, Feb 15\, 2025\nTime: 9:30 – 11:30 AM\nLocation: Peachtree Park Neighborhood Entrance to PATH400 (3399 Peachtree Dr NE\, Atlanta\, GA 30305)\n\nDescription: This waterway cleanup event provides an opportunity to get involved with your community and be an environmental steward.  \nPurpose: Community involvement & environmental stewardship. In 2024\, more than 30 volunteers collected over 50 pounds of trash\, making a difference in the natural habitat around this environmentally sensitive detention pond\, filled with native wildlife.  \nRole: We will be removing debris from the pond along PATH400\, as well as clearing the surrounding area. No previous experience is necessary and it should be a fun and rewarding morning\, making a tangible difference. \nVibe: Have fun and learn about the native environment \n\nWhen you volunteer\, you’re more than just lending a hand—you’re creating a ripple effect of positive change. Your time and effort directly benefit the community and environment by: \n\nProtecting Natural Habitats: Removing debris keeps our waterways clean\, supporting native wildlife and ecosystems.\nBuilding Community Pride: Working together strengthens bonds with neighbors and fosters a sense of collective responsibility.\nPromoting Sustainability: Small actions\, like clearing litter\, add up to a healthier planet for future generations.
